A total of 340 communities  in 22 districts and municipalities in Brong Ahafo Region started enjoying electricity power as at the end of December, last year.

 

Dr Joe Oteng Adjei, Minister of Energy who announced this at the sod cutting ceremony for the construction of a 29 million dollars sub-station in Kintampo on Monday said the facility was provided in 216 of the communities under the Self-Help Electricity Programme.

Ghana: Small Illinois Company Wins $350 Million Contract to Expand Electricity Transmission Backed By Ex-Im Bank Financing.

A 13-employee engineering firm based in Mount Prospect, Ill. has won a $350 million rural electrification turnkey contract from the government of Ghana, and will procure equipment and services from U.S. suppliers around the country to fill the order backed by a $344 million loan from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank).
